Sherri, A.A. Marketing and Management
Administrative Staff | Administrative Team leader/Insurance Coordinator/Financial Coordinator

Sherri was raised in Bird Island. Her degree in Marketing and Management positioned her well for various positions as a Patient Service Representative, and Insurance Coordinator in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Kansas before re-locating to the Willmar area. She joined Oral-Facial Surgery in 2000 as a Patient Coordinator. Sherri quickly distinguishing herself as invaluable in the areas of Insurance, Coding, and Billing. Through the years, she has taken many courses offered by the American Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. She is CPR certified and completes annual training in HIPAA, OSHA, and Provider Training webinars for Insurance Payors.

Sherri has been married to Jay for over 30 years. They have a daughter in San Francisco, and a son and new daughter-in-law in Duluth! Their family enjoys Gopher Football and Tailgating, traveling, and outdoor activities. Sherri’s personal mission is to be Kind to everyone. “Everyone is dealing with something we don’t know about.”

Maria B.S., M.T, (ASCP)
Administrative Staff | Practice Manager/Marketing/Human Recourses/ I.T. Coordinator, OSHA Coordinator

Maria completed her B.S. in Biology with minors in both Chemistry and Spanish at Illinois State University. She then spent a 12-month internship at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago to complete certification as a Medical Technologist. As a lab scientist, she worked in various hospital labs including Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Maria managed a student lab at Northern Illinois University, where the medical lab students trained in specimen processing and aseptic technique. She also taught first aid, phlebotomy, and medical terminology at community colleges in Illinois. Later, she went on the study physiology at the graduate level. Maria joined the practice in 1993 as a patient coordinator. Throughout the years, she has assumed many roles and tasks, including reception, insurance and billing, IT, and HR. She is certified by the state of MN as a Medical Language Interpreter in Spanish and is a Health Coach through A.C.E.

Her greatest joy is time with her wonderful husband and family! She also enjoys scuba, travel, entertaining, and reading.

MaKayla, CMA
Clinical Staff/Medical Assistant

MaKayla joined the practice in early 2019, after working for several years as a Care Team Associate for a Dermatology and Laser clinic. Previous to that position, she earned a diploma in Early Childhood Education, as well as a certificate as a Nursing Assistant. With her bright smile and confident demeanor, MaKayla has proven ready to tackle both the administrative and clinical side of office-based oral surgery.

Makayla has participated in various continuing educations courses and seminars through Oral-Facial Surgery including BLS/CPR, Airway Emergency Training, Code Blue Training, H.I.P.A.A., and Medical Terminology for the Oral Surgery Practice.

Raised in Minneapolis, Makayla has settled in the Willmar area. She enjoys spending time with her husband and dog “Teddy”, as well as snowboarding, cooking, traveling, and weekend visits to the cabin with a good book.

Chelsea, RN, BSN
Clinical Staff | Registered Nurse/Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Chelsea uses her strong nursing background as a hospital-based Med/Surg Registered Nurse to promote safety for the patient seen in the Oral Surgery office and in the hospital. In addition to her R.N. and B.S.N. degrees, Chelsea is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (A.C.L.S.), and B.L.S./C.P.R. She is licensed in the state of Minnesota for Sedation Monitoring and has demonstrated effective “Code Team” Leadership in Code Blue and emergency airway training.

A Minnesota native, Chelsea lives in the Spicer area with the husband and black lab “Stella”. She enjoys time with her family, hiking and outdoor activities, as well as crafting.

Lacey, CNA, TMA
Clinical Staff | Certified Nursing Assistant/Trained Medical Aide

Lacey was a welcome addition to the Practice in 2020. Her areas of responsibility include Inventory Control, Equipment Maintenance, Ordering, and Sterilization. With her C.N.A., T.M.A. degree, and her background in laboratory science, she helps keep the clinical area running smoothly. Lacey also interacts with patients as a circulator/assistant.

Married to Justin since 2006, Lacey has three children between the ages of two and thirteen. Her hobbies include gardening, beekeeping, and hiking, canoeing, fishing, and quilting. She enjoys sharing her many healthy treats with staff in the breakroom.

Lacey is committed to pursuing lifelong learning and growth in all areas of her life. She frequently researches new processes, protocols, or products for the practice; and participates in regular continuing education.

Kaitlyn, B.S., R.D.H.
Clinical Staff | Dental Hygienist

Kaitlyn joined the Practice in 2018. Since then, she has completed her B.S. in Dental Hygiene at Minnesota State University in Mankato. Throughout the COVID pandemic, Kaitlyn worked diligently to assist in treating emergency patients. Her positive attitude and pleasant demeanor are matched only by her work ethic and professionalism.

In addition to certifications in local anesthesia and the administration of nitrous gas, Kaitlyn is completing training for IV sedation monitoring. She has also completed training in BLS/ CPR, HIPAA, Safe Patient Handling, OSHA, and specialized software training.

When she is not working, Kaitlyn enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dog “Lucy”.

Her personal mission statement is to provide care that is effective and personal to each patient. She lives that every day at OFS!
